APPLICATIONS
Please read this important information!
Read and follow these instructions carefully and completely in
order to ensure safe and proper use.
The instructions must be made available to all persons who
use the product.
2.1
INTENDED USE /
USE FOR INTENDED PURPOSE
The KE7010, the KE7010 Kit and the KE7010 PRO KIT are ancillary devices
for the KE7200 network tester:
KE7010 / KE7010 Kit: 1 ea. or 4 ea. KE7010
KE7010 PRO KIT: 4 ea. KE7010 + 1 ea. P310
Keep for future reference.
General
The device may only be used by adequately trained personnel.
Observe and comply with all safety regulations applicable for your work
environment.
Wear suitable and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
during all work.
KE7010
The KE7010, hereinafter referred to as the device, is a remote unit used in
combination with the KE7200 network tester. At least 1 device (ideally sev-
eral) is required to conduct complete cable testing with the KE7200. Refer
to the operating instructions (3-447-204-03) for the KE7200 and the
KE7010 regarding the test procedure and all other relevant information.
Safety of the user, as well as that of the product, is only assured when it’s
used for its intended purpose.
In particular, all applicable safety regulations in VDE 0100, 0800 and
0805 must be complied with.
Handling
Carefully and completely read and adhere to the product documenta-
tion for the associated test/measuring instrument.
Use the product only for its intended purpose in accordance with this
documentation and the documentation for the associated test/measur-
ing instrument.
P310 Probe
The P310 probe, hereinafter referred to as the device, is a contactless test
loudspeaker which is required for working in the search tone mode. Refer to
the operating instructions (3-447-204-03) for the KE7200 and the KE7010
regarding the test procedure and all other relevant information.
Safety of the user, as well as that of the product, is only assured when it’s
used for its intended purpose.
The device may only be used in data and telecommunications networks
which are free of interference voltage.
Interference voltages of greater than 60 V DC can destroy the device
and represent a potential health hazard to the user as well!
Never apply unnecessary strain to the cables connected to the device.
Use the product in undamaged condition only.
Inspect the product before use. Pay particular attention to damage.
If the product is damaged during use, for example if it’s dropped, re-
move it from operation permanently and secure it against inadvertent
use.
If there are any signs of interior damage to the product (e.g. loose parts
in the housing), permanently remove the it from operation and secure it
against inadvertent use.
If the product doesn’t function correctly, discontinue use of the product
and dispose of it properly.
2.2
USE FOR OTHER THAN INTENDED PURPOSE
Use of the product for any purposes other than those described in this sup-
plement, or in the product documentation for the associated test/measuring
instrument, is contrary to use for intended purpose.
2.3
LIABILITY AND GUARANTEE
Gossen Metrawatt GmbH assumes no liability for property damage, person-
al injury or consequential damage resulting from improper or incorrect use
of the product, in particular due to failure to observe the product documen-
tation. The same applies to maintenance measures which are not executed
properly or in due time. Furthermore, all guarantee claims are rendered null
and void in such cases.
Nor does Gossen Metrawatt GmbH assume any liability for data loss.
Operating Conditions

PRODUCT
Do not use the product after long periods of storage under unfavorable
conditions (e.g. humidity, dust or extreme temperature).
Do not use the product after extraordinary stressing due to transport.
Do not expose the product to direct sunlight.
Only use the product within the limits specified in the technical data and
operating conditions (ambient conditions, IP protection code, measur-
ing category etc.).
